Carts & Parts traces its roots to Gene and Shirley Thomason of Union City, Indiana. Unable to find accessories to dress up their own plain golf cart, Gene rebuilt it piece by piece, and friends who saw it on a camping trip soon wanted theirs transformed too. Demand grew by word of mouth until customizing carts became Gene's full-time work. The couple named the business together, and it has served customers since 2007. Even through the financial turmoil of 2008, they kept expanding, first into a workshop on their property and then into the larger building the dealership still occupies.

When Gene considered retirement, a friend introduced him to the Wendel family. Jeff and Jodi, who grew up in Fort Recovery, Ohio, now run the business with their children. Cole, Cade, Cobe, and Cali handle jobs ranging from servicing and detailing carts to delivering new ones. The family stays true to the founders' small-town values and goes out of its way for customers, sometimes dropping off parts on the drive home.

As an authorized E-Z-GO dealer serving East Central Indiana and nearby Ohio communities, Carts & Parts offers new and pre-owned golf cars, trade-ins, rentals for events and weddings, and a wide parts selection. Its technicians handle gas and electric repairs and custom upgrades, including upholstery and Union City High School team colors.
